Festival of the Fires on RTE Radio 1′s ‘Drivetime’
We were delighted on Good Friday to feature on RTE1′s ‘Drivetime’ show. They visited the Hill of Uisneach in the run up to Easter where reporter Brian Lally were lucky to catch up with the keeper of the Hill, David Clarke, and well-known local historian, author and Town Councillor Ruth Illingworth.
They were giving a tour of the hill to local schoolchildren who were also interviewed. You can listen to the interview and all of Friday’s ‘Drivetime’ by following/clicking this link.
Ruth Illingworth will be leading historical tours on the Hill all day on the day of the festival, from 12 noon until 7pm. There will also be two historical tents – one at the entrance, one adjacent to Lough Lugh – where lectures on the importance of Uisneach will be detailed all day.
